A big day out in 2009

It was all happening in 2009!

One I’ve tried to rescue a bit but wasn’t a great day anyway. This was Newport, 2009. An extremist hate group were planning a March through Newport on that day. I did hear they had scouts already in town updating them as to the crowds opposing them here. Suffice to say they didn’t turn up after hearing they were going to meet a lot of opposition!

The crowd here were great that day, really friendly and open, having a great camaraderie with the Police who were attending too. A huge cheer went up when we heard the group weren’t attending. Afterwards, I went to the pub.
